Once more unto the breach...

Recently I have been involved in a mini-resurgence of raiding activity, and it makes me realise that I miss it – particularly the good old days in the Rift. There are about 8 or 10 of us all playing at Aussie time who have quested together a lot over the last 18 months or so. It looks like we might finally be getting back into the raids, and with the various classes we cover on mains and alts, things look good.

This was partly prompted by an unplanned run into the Hall of Crafting involving several of us together with a number of our Kin from North America. We had enough on at the weekend to suddenly decide to run 2 groups at the same time, with all of us in Vent discussing things as we went along.

Since then the Aussies among us have gone in and tried Dark Delvings again, as well as 16th Hall, on a couple of evenings. No immediate success on Hard mode, but there was a fair bit of re-learning happening. So it looks like everyone is keen and now committed to getting the remaining radiance pieces, and then having a real crack at the new instances.

All of this has me looking forward to a 12-man run sometime soon, and some old-fashioned tanking on Crop!

Happy Anniversary!

Well, today is my 2-year anniversary in LOTRO. Many thanks to everyone who has made it so enjoyable so far, and I hope to see all of you in-game for years to come...

What I did in my holidays

A few years ago I went on a trip to New Zealand, mainly to tour around the various locations used in Peter Jackson's movies. We had a fantastic time, and got to see a lot in only 10 days.

After seeing the wonderful posts over in The Road Goes Ever On, I thought I might add a few pictures as well. Here is Bag End as it looks now:

Hobbiton was wreathed in mist the day we visited, and the Tour operators apologised for it. However it actually made it easier to squint a bit and imagine being there.

Here is a view up The Hill, with Bag End somewhere up there in the mist!

And the Party Tree. It is massive... and felt perfect to sit under - too bad I did not have a pipe!

Hi there,
I have been inspired by the LOTRO Combo Blog and it's wonderful contributors to make an effort to join the fun. I find that I am interested by almost anything remotely LOTR related, so this could jump all over the place...
